Hi, I'm David Blumenthal, owner of Blu's Dogs.
My journey into dog training started with my best friend, Hank.
After rescuing Hank in 2016, I quickly realized he came with challenges—leash pulling, endless energy, resource guarding, and reactivity around other dogs. At one point, he was nearly removed from his dog walking group after biting another walker.
Giving up on him was never an option.
I spent years studying dog behavior, working with professional trainers, reading countless books, and putting what I learned into practice every single day. Over time, Hank transformed, and so did I. What started as helping my own dog became a passion for helping others build stronger relationships with theirs.
Friends and family began asking for help with their dogs, and those recommendations eventually grew into Blu's Dogs.
Today, my goal is simple:
Providing owners with real training that creates real results.
Whether your dog needs better leash manners, more confidence, help with behavior challenges, or simply a structured walk, every session is designed to create lasting results—not temporary fixes.
Outside of dog training, I've proudly served as a law enforcement officer since 2010. That career has reinforced the values I bring to every client: honesty, patience, reliability, professionalism, and genuine care.
Every dog deserves the opportunity to succeed, and I'd be honored to help yours.
